Peterborough Rape Crisis Care Group (PRCCG)

A charity dedicated to supporting all survivors of rape and any form of sexual violence, no matter when the incident happened.

Emotional support

This service is called ‘Making SENSE of Trauma’ and has been designed and developed over a number years in partnership with a trauma consultant, experienced counsellors and survivors. Our aim is to walk alongside survivors giving them tools, resources and coping mechanisms to bounce forward from their trauma. This service is also available to those who are supporting a loved one who has experienced sexual violence.

This service is ideal for

  • Available to survivors aged 14 and above
  • Available to supporters aged 18 and above
  • Available to all genders
  • Delivered via telephone, email, text and via online video calls
  • Sessions delivered on a fortnightly basis over 16 weeks

Advocacy

Our advocacy service is delivered by Independent Sexual Violence Advocates. We use the terms ‘ISVA’ when supporting adults and ‘ChISVA’ when supporting children and young people. Our team of ISVAs and ChISVAs will support survivors through the criminal justice process but also offer informed choice sessions to those who are thinking of reported to the police but are unsure about where to start. The role of an ISVA is set out by the Home Office to provide emotional/practical support, be survivor led and independent from any other organisation (including the police)

This service is ideal for

  • Available to all ages and all genders
  • Support provided in person, via telephone, email, text and via online video calls
  • Support available depending on your needs and throughout the criminal justice process
If it wasn’t for you guys I would be in jail. I am so grateful for you. My whole life I have never believed in suicide or depression or anything like that, it wasn’t until I went through what I did, I believed it. If it wasn’t for Bex or my ISVA I don’t think I’d be here without your guys service. Honestly I felt I got so lucky I could’ve been given a therapist I wouldn’t have connected with but I got Bex and we was connected straight away. You guys are amazing, my kids still have their dad in their life that’s because of people like you. I just felt like Bex understood everything I said to her, she made me open up and no one has ever made me able to do that, not for 30 years, she has helped me so much, hats of to the girl. She always made sure that I wasn’t in a dark enough place to commit suicide, I appreciated that, she stopped me committing murder, I’m thankful I had her. Honestly I could have asked Bex anything and she would’ve sorted everything for me. She was amazing, she helped me with my job centre, my doctors everything. I was destroyed and I couldn’t do anything I lost my job even though I was working for 8 years. Bex got me back in touch with my baby mum, and she has been there for me. It was amazing. Tell Bex I said thank you for being there for me. There is no words I have to say to say how much I appreciate her. I never have been able to talk but you girls have saved me.”
